- 10. What can I do to prepare for an interview at Cengage Learning?
- Browse the product catalogs on our Web site, review the job description you're interviewing for and give careful consideration to your background and how it applies to the role we're seeking to fill. If you're selected for an in-person interview, the recruiter will outline who you can expect to meet. This may include several team members in addition to the hiring manager, so please plan adequate time for your visit. It's also a good idea to think of a few questions to ask us at the end of the interview.
- 11. How do I search and apply for a job?
- Simply access our Search Jobs section to search and apply for jobs. You'll be able to refine your job search by location, job function and/or keywords. You can also stay up-to-date by subscribing to job alerts via RSS, Facebook or Twitter.
- 12. What if I don't see a job that interests me right now, but I'm interested in your company?
- You can fill out a general application by creating a profile in our application system. Although our recruiters continually search through general applications, it's still a good idea to apply for specific positions that interest you when you see them become available.
- 13. Can I apply for multiple positions concurrently with Cengage Learning?
- Yes. Our recruiters work closely together to ensure that candidates who are under consideration for multiple opportunities within the company are guided toward the best opportunity available for their skill set. We want to find the right fit for our needs, and we want you to find the right fit for your interests and skills.
- 14. How do I know if my profile and resume were received?
- You will receive an on-screen message and e-mail confirmation of your successful submission. While we appreciate your interest and know how much effort goes into a job search, please avoid calling to check on the status of your application. (As an exception, if you had difficulties uploading your application or did not receive a confirmation screen/e-mail, please e-mail careers@cengage.com for technical support.)
- 15. I'm having technical problems uploading my application materials. Who can help me?
- Simply e-mail your questions to careers@cengage.com for technical support.
- 16. What happens after I apply for a position? How do I check the status of my online application?
- After you apply for a position, your qualifications will be considered against the criteria for that specific role. Our positions will remain posted until they are filled and you can check your application status at any time. Please note that we are only able to contact candidates who we plan to interview. If you do receive a call, expect two or more rounds of interviews, the first via phone. Some positions may have additional requirements, such as a review of prior work samples or skills-based assignments. If relevant, this step is addressed during the interview process.
- 17. How long is my resume kept on file?
- Your profile is retained in our system for two years. Simply log in to update your profile information and/or apply for newly posted positions.
- 18. How do I update my current profile (e.g., update my resume, replace cover letter, change an address)?
- Simply log in and you will be able to update any of the information in your profile and also provide an updated resume and/or cover letter.
- 19. Will my resume be shared across multiple Cengage Learning business units?

- 20. How can I notify you that I was referred by a current Cengage Learning employee?
- There is an option to enter this information during your online application process. We highly encourage you to enter that person's name in the appropriate field.
